Mel (she/her) is currently a Masters student at St. Cloud State University in the Marriage and Family Therapy program. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Prior to her program, she worked as an assistant in holistic healthcare for several years. Working there illuminated the body and mind connection and the importance of wellness throughout both systems as they interact and heal together. She is focused on helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the roller coaster of life together and uncover the thoughts and feelings that no longer serve them. She believes emotions are a powerful tool, and learning how to express them in healthy ways helps nurture relationships. Her goal in therapy is to provide a safe environment for couples and families to share their story, offering avenues for healing intergenerational trauma, and empower adolescents and athletes to advocate for themselves as they blossom into the people they are becoming. She is trained and certified as a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator and has special interest in working with couples as they continue learning about one another. Her special interests include working with families maneuvering PTSD, providing tools for parenting, and adolescents and athletes experiencing anxiety and depression.
