Managing School Stress: Midterm Edition
The school semester is in full swing with classes, football games and late night study sessions in the library. Before you know it, midterms and finals will arrive bringing with it a list of to dos with a time crunch. The stress of exams and homework in college can be overwhelming so it is important to maintain good boundaries and self care during this time. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind when the steady stream of exams and papers emerge.
Do:
Exercise
Spend time with friends
Take a break to watch a favorite show
Listen to music
Eat healthy
It is important to take care of your mind, body and heart. Find small moments to do something that brings you joy, schedule breaks to be physical and remember to eat healthy. If you treat your body well, you will be better prepared for that exam.
Don’t:
Over Drink
Binge on unhealthy food
Pull an all nighter
Your body needs rest, healthy food and water. Sleeping is better for the brain than having that last minute study session at 4am in the library.
Remember to breathe. You will get through this and then it is winter break!
